Anyway, for the next few months I'm going to give you a little insight to what you can look forward to in the upcoming issue. First off, one of our fabulous brides, Yvette, whose wedding we are going to be featuring, sent us some awesome photos from her engagement shoot with the very talented Daniel W. Torres Photography.
Yvette and Javier will wed this May at the Chapel of Incarnate Word and reception will take place at the Sky Room. Look for their wedding highlights in the magazine debuting July 2010.

If you're unsure what to get your bridesmaids, mother or mother-in-law, this is an AWESOME gift. You can come in with everyone for a fun party and design pieces together or surprise them with something special. What's great about this store too is that you can bring in swatches of the dresses or your wedding colors and coordinate them to match. And by designing the jewelry yourself you know you're getting something completely custom.
Think custom is expensive? Not at all. Jenny works with you one-on-one to discuss your ideas and works within your budget. She's very sweet and really a true artist. And she can do all sorts of styles, traditional, edgy, classic, bold.. the possibilities are really endless.
And if you haven't picked out your colors yet, this store is a great place to start. Definitely worth visiting. For more information click here or call 210-558-0559.
Look for the up close and personal profile of Jenny in our 2010-2011 edition of the magazine debuting in July.

Design relates a lot to a first impression. Treat every aspect of your design equally. The pattern or texture of your linens should complement the look of your floral arrangements. If you have a very symmetrical tablecloth an elaborate garden-inspired arrangement might not work as well as simple, modern piece. Although this is no golden rule, it's a good idea to speak with your vendors and let them know the other design elements that might be incorporated into your overall design. Soo.. with that said, let's get on to the good stuff. Look how they spruced up the walkway here. A very whimsical and romantic look.

Well, although I might not have met you personally, please take note when I say this. I honestly and wholeheartedly suggest visiting with Jessica at La Mansion del Rio. She is one of the sweetest and most professional people I have met in this city. The hotel is beautiful. The decor is reminiscent of a Spanish governor's palace but with much more upscale classiness.
I had the opportunity to have lunch with Jessica and Ms. Carla, the director of catering at La Mansion, at the hotel's restaurant, Las Canarias. OMG, it was delicious. Kudos to the chef. I don't remember the exact name of the soup I had, but it was delicious. I also had the Cobb salad-it was great! Definitely worth checking out. There are great views of the Riverwalk without the crowd. :)
Anyway, let's get on to the good stuff. I took a brief tour of the hotel. Checked out some of the banquet spaces and was very impressed. Here are a few pictures I took (with the exception of one).
This makes a great photo opportunity for the couple.
So I obviously didn't take this photo. But we had it on file so had to share. This is the Iberian Ballroom all decked out for a wedding. Gorgeous eh?
This was probably my favorite room, the Veramendi Room. The space had 12 chandeliers... That's right...12!
This isn't the best picture, yes I know, which is actually the point. Pictures don't do this space justice. It's a must see for sure. The Madero is truly a beautiful ballroom.
Check out this space. In the El Capistrano the beams and natural lighting are very catching. It's right by the courtyard too.
And.. it's connected to this part! Woo! The doors, windows and awesome light fixtures add a very unique touch. You can have your ceremony here and then move on over to the reception room right next door.
Speaking of ceremony, the garden courtyard is a perfect place for couples to exchange vows. Look at the pretty fountain.
