Finally a blog post right? Sorry folks I've been crazy busy this week running around meeting clients and attending photo shoots. And let me just say, you're going to be blown away with what we got in store for our July edition. I'm super excited!

So today I went and visited David with Statue of Design. The team over there was working with amazing photographer Kristin with Urth Studio on Statue of Design's new ad. I'd share a photo or two but we wouldn't want to ruin the surprise.

Anyway, if you don't have a florist yet, David is certainly worth visiting with. He does A-M-A-Z-I-N-G work! I am just in love with what he had out there today. So here are a few shots of some other stuff he's done. Enjoy! Give David a call at 210-829-0636, tell him we sent you. :)

Honeymoon Destination #2

Not sure where to go for your honeymoon? Considering a destination wedding? All About Honeymoons and Destination Weddings' Monica Velasco shared her experience with us. Check out what she had to say below.




1. What (if anything) made this destination different from any other?
The Baja California Peninsula, better known as "Baja", is a beautiful combination of the desert and the sea. It is privileged to have the Sea of Cortes on one side and the Pacific Ocean on the other. Beautiful rugged mountains make the backdrop spectacular. The ocean is a deep blue and the marine life is amazing: anything from dolphins, to marlin, sea lions and seals make it unique.

The winter months are chilly and not necessarily great for swimming...although some resorts do have heated pools. The best feature of the winter are the whales that come to mate in the region of Bahia San Ignacio area (on the Sea of Cortes side). If you are visiting Los Cabos, La Paz or Loreto, you will definitiley be able to see them from January through February. These months are perfect for a nice round of golf, which is very popular in the Los Cabos area.

Summer is extremely hot and sometimes the desert heat can get extreme. Still you are surrounded by water and what better option! Deep sea fishing, snorkeling, ATV runners, ziplining are a few of the numerous activities that you can do. By far, the best months to visit are April-May and October-November.

2. Would you rate this on YOUR top list of places to consider for a honeymoon? (How many other locations have you been to?)
Yes! This is definitely a romantic spot! The beaches are endless for walking and the sunsets are spectacular. Shopping in downtown San Jose is a must, as well as barhopping in San Lucas. Or, just enjoying the view from your hotel.

3. What was the best feature of the entire resort/location?
Location...if you are staying in the Los Cabos area, there is as much or as little as you want to do. Renting a car for one day and driving to nearby Todos Santos is definitely on my list of favorites. It's an easy 1-hour drive from Los Cabos or La Paz, and Todos Santos has become an important artist colony in Mexico (much like San Miguel de Allende). Also, it is the home of the famous Hotel California from the Eagles' song!

4. How was the process of traveling to this location in particular? Was it hard to find tickets? Flights booked? Etc?
Stress-free if you know what you expect from your stay...make sure you are specific as to how much activity you want to have going on during your stay, as the resorts that are close to or in San Jose are quieter than the ones in San Lucas.

5. What did your itinerary look like on your stay there?
I go at least once a year and stay in La Paz (about 2 1/2 hours north of Los Cabos). This is a beautiful small town on the Sea of Cortes with lots of water-related activities. Very tourist friendly and reasonable prices.

6. Is this a location to consider for a destination wedding? What perks do they offer? Inclusive packages?
Yes! Most resorts have great wedding and Honeymoon packages that are included in your stay. Makes for a perfect sunset hour wedding with the sun setting on the horizon....

Wedding Vendor of the Week: A Moment in Time

Don't think having a coordinator is a necessary expense? Think again.

Coordinators are definitely one of the most valuable wedding costs you'll encounter-and for a good reason. They can save you tons of headaches, stress and money. But choosing the right coordinator is a bit more challenging than simply picking from a list of candidates. You should click with this person, they should be respectful and insightful and you should get be on the same level of understanding. After all, they are in charge of one of the biggest days of your life. That said... we'd like to introduce you to our Wedding Vendor of the Week...Maggie Titterington of A Moment in Time.

Maggie is very sweet and very detail-oriented. If you've ever seen her in action, she handles crazy, hectic situations with poise, a few characteristics necessary for a smooth and flawless event.


1. How did you start out?

I originally was coordinating weddings for a local church back in 1998. I began training in video in '99 for this same church and started videotaping wedding for friends. I started my own videography business soon after. It was then that I noticed how many weddings actually had no one organizing them and that the bride and groom usually looked for direction from either the photographer or videographer.

Having organized multiple ministries during my church tenure and having the video experience of what goes on at weddings, I just felt the natural progression to start organizing weddings. I feel that I have an edge. In fact that not only do I understand them from the brides' point of view, but the vendors (having been one!) point of view as well.

2. What services do you offer?

We are a full-scale event planning business. We can do as little as direct your day that have planned out yourself or help you obtain venues, vendors and create the theme and decor of your event. Our video services include Photo Life Montages, Videotaping rehearsal dinners, as well as your wedding day and reception.

We capture the important moments that we know you want to look back on (entrances, vows, kiss, etc) as well as the candid moments that you may miss (crazy dances, special speeches, cute moments, etc). As a videographer,. you want to be there but not be in the way of the event. In the same sense, though, you must not be afraid to GET in there and grab the video for the client. YOU, as a videographer, are the captured live memory of the day - the only live record, besides memory - the bride or client will have. Memories fade and become inaccurate, but video is forever.

3. What's the inspiration behind your work?

I see my business as a ministry that honors God in the way that I treat not only my clients, but my vendors as well. I try to be honest, flexible and giving as I can, within reason, propriety and good business sense.

In this business, you can be in ti for the money or the service itself. This isn't to say that I don't NEED money - everyone needs to make a living. I don't want to do it at the expense of my client or integrity as a business woman. Too many times I have seen unhappy past brides of other agencies that were short changed, cheated or taken to the proverbial cleaners without anything to show for it except heartache. I want my clients to look back at my work and know they received the very best I had to offer and that their satisfaction and happiness were my ultimate goal.

4. What is the best part of your job?

That i get to be a part of one of the happiest days of a couple's life. For a season of planning or one night of videotaping, I have a part of their life and they are trusting me to plan it, capture it and give it back to them. I am humbled and honored and look forward to many more years of service!
